Is the Lead Pastor at ACF Church, having assumed the role on April 21, 2024. She is the eldest daughter of Pastor Dick and Cely Marcial. Born in the Philippines, Katherine and her family migrated to Melbourne, Australia when she was just four years old. Growing up in a church environment, she encountered Jesus early on and developed a deep commitment to serving and leading within the faith community.
With over 19 years of ministry experience, Katherine has been a pivotal figure in youth ministry. She began as a youth leader at the age of 18 and played a key role in pioneering the ACF Youth Ministry in 2008. Her journey as a pastor’s kid (PK) came with its challenges, but she has turned those experiences into strengths, encouraging and equipping young people to grow in their faith.
In 2019, Katherine was honoured as the youngest female pastor in Melbourne’s Southeast suburbs during her ordination and has served as an associate pastor since that time. Professionally, she is a registered nurse, but her calling to ministry has been a constant thread throughout her life. She completed a Diploma in Ministry and Theology at Harvest Bible College in 2016 and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Theology at Alphacrucis College.
Beyond her ministry and professional
pursuits, Katherine enjoys singing, playing the piano, and exploring new places
with her family. Her love for these activities complements her commitment to
serving God and people, which is evident through her preaching, teaching,
pastoral care, and visionary leadership. Her passion for organizational
management and innovation further highlights her dedication to seeing God’s
transformative work in the surrounding communities.
Is also a Lead Pastor at ACF Church
and the husband of Senior Pastor Katherine Ann Saplala. Born and raised in the
Philippines, Jeffrey came to know Jesus in his late teens. Despite growing up
in a family that initially did not share his beliefs, he became a spiritual
pillar, leading them to Christ. Today, his family is actively involved in
serving within the Filipino community in Norzagaray, Bulacan.
Jeffrey migrated to Melbourne,
Australia in late 2012 where his calling to serve became increasingly evident.
He completed a Diploma in Leadership at Planetshakers College in 2022. As the
Music Director at ACF Church, Jeffrey is passionate about leading the
congregation and staff in authentic spiritual worship. He takes great joy in
training and developing musicians to glorify God through music.
Together with Pastor Katherine,
Jeffrey has played a key role in leading the youth ministry for over a decade.
His involvement in the church’s music ministry has been a cornerstone of his
service since his arrival in Melbourne. Jeffrey’s strengths include teaching,
preaching, leadership, organizational skills, pastoral care, and innovative
management.
Outside of his ministry and professional commitments, Jeffrey enjoys cycling, playing the guitar, and watching documentaries. These hobbies complement his dedication to church life and enrich his overall well-being, reflecting his balanced approach to faith and personal fulfilment
Are the pioneering founders of ACF
Church, established in April 2008. Pastor Dick Marcial was born and raised in
the Philippines and worked in the Middle East for over a decade. It was during
his time in Saudi Arabia that he encountered Jesus and began a profound
personal relationship with Him. This transformative experience ignited his deep
passion for the Kingdom of God and a mission to reconcile others with God the
Father.
Pastor Dick has completed numerous Ministry and Leadership courses, equipping him to effectively lead and mentor others. His extensive involvement includes serving on worship teams, teaching Bible studies, taking on leadership roles, and fulfilling board member duties. His dedication to God’s calling has been unwavering. Ordained on his 50th birthday, Pastor Dick’s faith and commitment are reflected in his actions and his unshakable trust in God.
For many years, Pastor Dick served as the Senior Pastor of ACF Church, guiding its growth and nurturing its congregation. On April 21, 2024, he passed the role of Senior Pastor to his eldest daughter, Katherine. Pastor Dick remains committed to training and developing leaders to foster church growth and impact the surrounding communities. His expertise encompasses vision casting, pastoral care, counselling, and governance. Through his leadership, he has aimed to bring more people to know Jesus Christ and create lasting change in the lives of those around him.
